Prof. Ram is a specialist in internal medicine and oncologic hematology. He is the head of the Bone Marrow Transplantation Department at Ikhilov Medical Center and is in private practice at Assuta Clinic. His main specialty is all aspects of malignant hematological diseases and bone marrow transplantation. He focuses on gentle methods of hematopoietic stem cell and bone marrow transplantation for elderly patients. These methods include mini bone marrow transplantation , which utilizes less aggressive chemotherapy. Prof. Ram is also innovating the treatment of blood cancers, in particular immune therapies, and has recently been developing the principles of bone marrow transplantation for patients with hematologic oncohematologic pathologies in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Academic and scientific activities
Prof. Ram is a senior lecturer at Tel Aviv University School of Medicine. He also teaches a course in internal medicine for foreign doctors confirming their medical education in Israel and supervises internships at the Ikhilov Medical Center.
In addition to his medical and teaching work, Professor Ram conducts scientific research. On his account – dozens of reports at international conferences and publications in medical periodicals. The professor’s research is devoted to the following topics:
- safety and efficacy of blinatumomab for the treatment of oncohematologic diseases;
- treatment of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in children and adolescents;
- treatment of relapsed acute myeloid leukemia with the biological drug venetoclax;
- therapy of relapsed non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma with the drug polatuzumab vedotin;
- transplantation of autologous hematopoietic stem cells in multiple myeloma;
- chemotherapy for chronic myeloid leukemia.
